I was born in England but have lived in the United States for most of my adult life. I graduated from the Polytechnic of North London, subsequently earning my Certificate of Qualification in Social Work from the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work. I received my Certificate in College Counseling from UC San Diego.

My professional memberships include NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling), WACAC (Western Association for College Admission Counseling), and HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association). To remain informed and educated about different institutions and programs, I visit colleges throughout the country each year. Regular attendance at conferences and college presentations allows for continued professional development. In addition, I have volunteered hundreds of hours at a local public high school in the College and Career Center.

The mother of four daughters, all of whom have gone through the college admissions process, I know exactly what it is like to live in a household with a college applicant. Sometimes the application process causes tension between parents and their children. For example, parents often see the necessity for focus and timelines whilst many young people have different priorities. My aim is to exert a calming influence on this process. Recognizing that each student has different needs, I provide accurate information and help set realistic goals.
"Peta, you are a jewel. I say that because your warm, gentle, calm and comforting personality guided us through a few years of a process that can be highly overwrought. You were always informative, and were able to give both the girls the advice they needed to guide them through all the intricacies of the college process including a list of colleges that fit their individual abilities and personalities. You did a wonderful job, and we are very grateful to you."
